All bathrooms are accessible.
Both floors can be reached by elevator.
The Back Entrance and the O’Malley Alley Entrance are barrier-free.
Service dogs are welcome.

The city provides handicapped parking on the street in front of our building. There are usually available spots. You can pull into O’Malley Alley to the right of the building for elevator drop-off and pickup. It requires an operator, so please advise a volunteer or staff member if you need assistance.

FROM INTERSTATE 295

Take exit 6A for Forest Avenue South toward US-302/Casco Bay Bridge.
Merge right onto State Street through Deering Oaks Park
Continue towards Casco Bay Bridge on State Street
Turn right onto Gray Street or Danforth Street to find parking in the neighborhood.

FROM DOWNTOWN PORTLAND (Congress St)

Head West on Congress Street toward Longfellow Square.
Turn left onto State Street
Turn right onto Gray Street or Danforth Street to find parking in the neighborhood.

FROM DOWNTOWN PORTLAND (Commercial St)

Head West on Commercial Street towards Casco Bay Bridge
Turn Right onto High Street
Turn left onto Danforth Ave
Turn Right on Winter Street
Turn Right on Gray Street or Danforth Street to find parking in the neighborhood.

FROM SOUTH PORTLAND AND CAPE ELIZABETH

Cross the Casco Bay Bridge
Turn Right onto Fore Street

PARKING

The Maine Irish Heritage Center does not have public parking. We recommend parking on the neighborhood streets, which is free. Alternatively, the covered Spring Street Garage is less than a 10-minute walk from MIHC. There is EV parking at 98 Spring Street (ChargePoint Charging Station).

MIHC has several entrances. Please check your ticket, confirmation, or invitation to see which door to use.

The Main Entrance is at 34 Gray Street
The State Street Entrance is on the corner of State and Gray
The Back Entrance used for the Library and Genealogy is behind the building near the corner of State and Danforth.
The O’Malley Alley Entrance is reserved for those requiring assistance by elevator. Please contact a volunteer or staff person to request access.
